The Domaine de Villemont
The vines of the Haut Poitou have been cultivated
in the region since the gallo-romain age.
The vineyard of the Domaine is composed of 18 hectares
and has been in the Family Bourdier for many decades.
It is situated in Seuilly in the commune of Mirebeau, a few kilometres
away from the Futuroscope between Poitiers/Angers.
The vineyards are situated in the north of the appellation Haut
Poitou, renown for the chalky-clay soils. We produce red wines (Gamay,
Cabernet Franc, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot), rosé
and whites (Chardonnay, Chenin and Sauvignon).
A microclimate and the soil contribute to expressive and
fruity wines in harmony with the poitevine gastronomy.
A selection of grape varieties, the work of the vineyard, a constant
and strict surveillance of the production and the know-how of a
traditional vinification ensure wines of quality that have
been recognised at national competitions (Paris, Gold Medals
in 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2002), regional (Saveurs Poitou Charentes
in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002) and in the guides (Hachette, Sommeliers,
Petit Futé).
The originality of the Domaine de Villemont is
that it has a wine tasting cellar and the wine is made and stored
here, some of the wines are aged in oak barrels. All of this is
contained in a 19 th century clos, entirely built with exposed stones
and also include a vineyard in production.

Nowadays, two passionate generations of wine makers create
the quality and bring it to the highest expression.
Alain and Rodolphe share the vineyard work and the detailed care
of the wines; Annie and Virginie see to the commercialisation to
private clients and to restaurants.
Throughout the year, from Monday to Saturday from 9H30 to 19H, the
family would be pleased to let you discover the domain, the vineyard,
the wineries, the cellar and to offer the chance to taste the selection
of wines in the cellar.
